I Don't Speak Italian

Summer vacation 2006, I, Jack Cardinale was lost.

It all started one afternoon in Italy, on a small island named Marettimo. I had a good summer that year but I had a few down points. 2006 was the year Italy won the world cup, so everyone on this island was playing soccer. There were no cars on the island because there was no way to get there but a ship. Since there were no cars on the island, we took this to our advantage and we would play soccer in the streets. That's where we first discovered the cats.

At first we thought it was just a rare site, but soon we discovered they showed up everywhere. At the docks, by the beach, everywhere. I guess the cats were at the docks and the beach because of the fish. When my cousin Laurence and I became bored, we would feed the cats or name them. Some of the names were, "White Tiger," "Policeman," and "Tom." Laurence was bit by "Tom" that summer, but luckily it was nothing serious. I thought after that he would stop playing with the cats, but he didn't, he just wouldn't play with "Tom."

One day Laurence took me to this little alley behind our house. We had played soccer there many times, so I thought he was going to challenge me to a one on one. My mom said we had to be back in 10 minutes because we were going out to dinner. When we got to the alley, the cats  surrounded us. All I could manage to say was, "Wow." I was amazed and couldn't believe what I saw. I was in the middle of thinking, why would they all be here at once? When all of a sudden, they scattered! I told Laurence, "Come on, lets go into that building. A bunch went in there." The worst part about my choice was, it was a condemned building.

As we went inside I had to stop so my eyes could adjust to the darkness but after that we went right in. I saw three cats when I went inside. They all fled. After we knew all the cats were gone we went back out the alley, but my parents were gone. We looked everywhere but they were no where to be found. While we were looking for them we found two of my other cousins that live there. I was thinking this would be really helpful if I knew how to speak Italian. Since they couldn't understand us and we couldn't understand them they knocked on a person's door to see if they could translate. The problem was these people didn't speak English either.

These people only made it worst for us. They told my cousins that live there that they thought my parents were waiting for us at the docks. I knew my parents weren't at the dock. I knew they were probably looking all over the island for Laurence and I.

We were being dragged to the docks by my cousins. We tugged and pulled but it was no use. I was about to be on a boat to Sicily without my parents and there was nothing I could do about it. When all my hope was gone I looked down one of the alleys and my parents were there calling our names. I screamed at the top my lungs "Mom dad over here!" It was no use. They couldn't hear me. Once we got to the dock I took one look back thinking bye family. In surprise my parents were standing there calling my name. Knowing they saw me gave me a little extra boost of adrenalin and I broke free. I immediately ran to my parents and made them get my cousins to release Laurence. They did as told and we were so exited to be free but then my parents told me I was grounded. I know it was better than being separated from my family. So I spent the rest of my time in Italy learning Italian.

Volcano Ride

Volcano Ride

This story maybe a little scary for some younger viewers. IT MAY CAUSE:LAUGHING,CRYING,OR A SERIOUS CASE OF LEAVING THE ROOM! Please have a parental super vision standing by.

(Enjoy your read.)

-June 10,1999 or something like that. Me and my family were flying to New Zealand on air New Zealand.

It seems like it was just ten years ago, oh wait it was just 10 years ago. I was just a little boy and was traveling to New Zealand when I was only one year old. (And that wasn't pretty) So any way I was just minding my own business by crying, when whoosh! I looked out the small bird house sized window in panic. And by then I was pretty worried that we were crashing! and saw smoke coming out the back of the air plane, but later I found out that we landed. What a relief. But that's not all of it.

(Same day)

-June 10,1999,. We all

were surprised at all of the sights, and then we went to go get are bag’s, well, my dad and mom did. We took a taxi to are apartment on the eighth floor. I was so excited to be on the eighth floor, I had never been higher than the second floor, and I think that you have pretty good idea why I never been higher than the second level :D. And it had a beautiful view of New Zealand bay.

(2 weeks past)

-June 24,1999,. I was just playing with my Monster Inc. Toys, when my dad came shooting through the door like he just had 1 cup of coffee but it seems like 100,000,000 cups of coffee with some pieces of Swiss chocolate, sugar, well maybe not all of that but he came shooting through the door. So all that put together is a chocolaty, sugary, coffee. Then me and my dad, Kurt, went down to the New Zealand-like pub underneath are apartment with this guy who gave me a very special drink, And that very, very special drink was APPLE JUICE! ,But that apple juice was good! And my dad had beer. Later we took a trip to some inactive volcano's ,it was still really really hot And stinky! Again I was only one year old so I had to be in a baby stroller when my parent's looked away they forgot to put the brake's on so I started to roll and roll and roll straight to a volcano!

Suddenly thump ,I started to cry, but any way I hit some guy:) WOW! Was that guy mad, And I mean like smoke coming out of your ears STRIKE! But then finally my mom came running after me. Then after the incident we went to look at the rest of the volcano's. And you could imagine that was the last time we went to look at volcano's.

Lost

"Mom, can we go to Nordstroms? I would like a new doll, because every five-year-old girl has three dolls, and I have only two, so I wanted one more," I said.

"OK, but in five minutes, OK?" said Mom.

"OK, I am so excited mom!" I babbled out in excitement.

"Let's go now," yelled mom.

"OK." I hopped into the car and buckled up, and asked mom to turn on the radio. I listened to some music, until we reached the mall, and then we headed to Nordstroms. When we got inside Nordstroms, I saw a lot of clothes, and jewelery, and other stuff like that. It was very pretty.

"Mom let's go up stairs, so we can look at the dolls," I said.

"OK, do you want to go up the stairs, elevator, or escalators?" asked Mom.

" Lets go up the elevator", I sparked out.

"OK," snickered Mom

As we went up the elevator, I was laughing, because my stomach totally dropped and that I did not know what it was.

We exited off the elevator and headed toward the dolls right as we got to the dolls I saw lots of cool dolls there. I thought to myself how could I ever choose one?

"I am going to go look at clothes and you stay here and decide which doll you want OK?" asked Mom.

"OK," I said.

I watched Mom walk away in the silence then I got back to picking my doll.

I had picked out my doll, it had blond hair with a polka dot dress. Then I went to Mom to show what what doll I had.

"Mom where are you?" I looked in all the clothes departments and I started to get scared.

A persson iI did not know came up to me because she saw me alone and said " What's wrong?" She said

" I lost my mom".

Then the person I did not know took me to the help counter and the person working at the help counter spoke into the intercom and said "we have a young five year old girl, with brown short hair who is looking for her mom if this is your daughter please come to the help counter."

I waited and waited, until my mom would show up she had not come, and it had been 5 minutes of fright for me.

"Mom you are back," I ran to hug her and then we bought my doll, and went to my cozy home with my new toy.

Even though ,that was a S.O.S I was so happy to have my new doll, and play with it all, day, long!

WITHOUT A BREATH

Finally we got there. Our plane landed in Hawaii that Sunday morning in early August. I was so excited we had landed, I hate plane rides! I always have. I've puked about three times in planes, also I get really claustrophobic in a car or plane. But the good news was, we landed. I took a deep breath of fresh air as soon as I got out of the air port and whispered, "Yes, I made it."

We got in the car and started driving to the hotel we were going to stay at. I stared out the window at the beautiful scenery around me, I was only six so my mouth didn't really drop with amazement, but it looked pretty cool... When we arrived at the hotel, I was amazed, we had an awesome hotel right next to the beach. I took a look around. We even had a balcony looking out on the ocean, it was amazing.

The first thing I asked was, "Mom, could I go down to the beach, please?"

Luckily she said, "Shore that's OK with Me," then she asked my dad "How about you take them, T.J."

T.J. is my dad, he's a nice guy,and he agreed, "shore I'd love to take you."

I walked down to the beach with, my brother, my sister, and my dad. We were having a blast, we went swimming in the ocean, we made sand castles, and ran around. I was having the time of my life. After a lot of fun we had to go back to eat dinner. I was exhausted at the end of the day, we ate at the hotel, we had pasta and carrots. After that we had to go to bed.

The next day I was going to have surfing lessons. I couldn't wait, it would be so much fun to stand on a board and having a wave pull you towards shore, I was so excited. After everyone woke up we left for the beach. I was about to go surfing for the first time in my life. When we arrived at the beach, our instructors showed us how we should ride a wave and some technique.

When we got in the water I caught my first wave. I felt as if I were flying. As the wave died down I jumped of my board. I got back on my board started going back out to deeper water. I took the next wave in but this time when I jumped of I tried to get back out of the water, but something wasn't letting up. I tried again but again it didn't work. Now I needed a breath bad, I tried again but for a third time it didn't work. I tried to yell S.O.S but no one would here me because I was still under water. My lungs felt like they were going to turn into tinny little pebbles, I got a light headed felling I was heading downwards. I gave it one last try just for the heck of, I came up with all my strength this time the object wasn't there. Came out of the water and took the biggest breath of air I had ever taken in my life. I felt so happy my lungs felt so much better, and they expanded back to full size. I walked to shore rapped my self up in a worm blanket and took a little rest till every one was done. We went back to the hotel after that and had a relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Worst Day Ever

"Help!" I wanted to scream but I was to terrified to make a sound and it was hard for me to breath. I had butterflies in my stomach and I felt to scared to move but that was already happening.

I knew something was weird but at the time my day felt pretty good. I just got out of bed and I was heading down the stairs. Once when I got to the kitchen, I ate some cereal, then went outside. My friends Kyle and Brandon were waiting for me so we could go on a bike ride. But when I got outside, I forgot that my helmet was upstairs in my room. Since my room was upstairs, I had to walk past my dog, Nicko,my siberian husky, who was sleeping.

"There it is," I said when I saw the round top of it in my laundry basket. So I went and grabbed so I could go on the ride. My friends would have left after having to wait so long, but they were to bored to go anywhere at the time. As I was heading back outside and downstairs, I tripped on Nicko, and flew over the wall stub we had that was next to the stairs. SOS

"Its time to eat Jayden, so you need to come back downstairs. Your friends are still waiting for you." my sister yelled upstairs from the kitchen.

The wind was strong on my clothes and I felt like there was to much air in my lungs for me to breath. I was thinking that my knees would get scraped since I had holes in the place where my knees were. If I had a choice, I would have restarted my day, but I didn't think it would make to much of a difference. I wanted to yell but everything was happening way to fast. All I was able to do was expect the worse to happen right there and then, so I curled up in a ball. Right when I was about to hit the stairs, Nicko came out of nowhere wondering if it was time to take some food from the kitchen. He ran down the stairs and I was relieved to see his soft, black and white back. He had one brown eye and one blue eye and even though he looked vicious, he was just a big, skinny, wimp. He was only vicious when someone was hurting me or my sister, Savannah. One time my mom acted like she was hitting us, and Nicko tried to attack her as if he was saying,"don't touch them or I'll bite you!".

I almost missed his back but barely landed on it. When I landed on his soft back, I was weeping. I wasn't crying because I almost hit the stairs, but I was crying because I was to scared to make a noise so that my mom and my sister would know what's happening. When we got to the bottom, I gave Nicko a huge hug and went outside to go on the bike ride. "L-Lets g-go." I stuttered to Kyle and Brandon, who were asking me what took me so long.

Right after the ride I went to the kitchen to find something to eat and I crashed into my sister who almost crashed into our dinner while I almost stepped on glass since I was backing up blindly, forgetting that Nicko broke the coffee machine that my mom bought two years ago. After that, I was scared not only to go down the stairs, but I was also scared to go into the kitchen for week, hoping that I would never trip on the stairs again. I didn't overcome my kitchen fear completely until the next day when my sister forgot to bring me my food. She only forgot because since it was the weekend, she slept in. I overcame my stairs fear when I overcame my kitchen fear since the kitchen's downstairs. I wasn't really scared of the stairs and the kitchen, but I was scared of being by Nicko when he was
asleep and I was scared of glass.

Alone In A Car

One night on movie night I was told that I was going to Emerson's house with Jackson,my other friend. So we went to his house for a few hours hanging out, but after a while of playing video games and chatting we decided to play Badminton with Emerson's set of rackets. Although we only had two rackets we took turns by the odd one out who wasn't playing got to play the winner of that round. Another couple of hours past so we said that we would leave for movie night from his house then.
Once we got to Park School for movie night I started to freak out because I couldn't find my mom and she had the money for my Pizza and was I hungry but that wasn't my S.O.S moment. It was when we left for Emerson's house although it is only a few blocks away but Emerson's mom, Betina Mow, needed to stop by a friends house to pick some papers for work. She left us in the car after leaving us a choice either come inside with her or stay in the car with only each other.

We picked the wrong choice, we stayed in the silver coated car surrounded by some sort of tree making shadows in the wind.

After what felt hours we started to make up a game the game was called Intruder the object of the game was one of us in the car finds a person carrying a object, then you would figure out the easiest way to break into the car with the certain object the person was holding, although most of the times it was just they could throw it at the window and break in but, it was still incredibly fun. At first we all called it, "the worst game ever" but when your stuck in a car anything turns into the best thing ever!
At one moment a person walked by with a plastic hammer Emerson and I both said "Jackson your turn." We said simultaneously,"That is definitely the hardest to do",then out of the blue he looked into the car and smiled. It sure was creepy but a even scarier thing happened.
The part when Betina and her friend snuck up behind the car and scared the heck out of Jackson, Emerson, and me. The S.O.S moment was when another black tinted window Odyssey car pulled up behind the car that we chose to be trapped in(A dumb idea). I solemnly swear that I thought I was going to get kidnapped or even worse, stripped of my glow sticks.

I will never forget the moment when I saw that car pull up behind us with it's brights on. We were so scared we were almost at the point of screaming.

Another bad thing was wh
en we started to leave and are car broke down and we were stuck at their house with no way to get to his house. After they kindly lent us one of their cars we started for Emerson's house. "Finally!", I said with a sigh of relieve.
"I am glad that is all behind us!," Jackson yelped. All four of us, Jackson, Emerson, Betina, and me started to head out on to the cold breezy street at 8:00 a sign flowed slowly by, I knew that everybody saw the sign because we all laughed then paused and screamed in horror of what we just saw a . . . A sign that said crime watch.

After that we raced to his house screaming and yelling, pushing each other throughout the house. First we freaked out then realized that everything was over, then out of the blue we heard a "knock" on the door my heart stopped we opened the door it was . . . Emerson's sister, Purna, knocking after she was locked outside.
In all it was a great, exciting, and blood rushing part in my life although it was scary. In the morning we all had a plateful of Pancakes. I will never forget that smile on the man's face that looked at the three of us.

Capsize

Capsize

-June 2007 I don't know the full date. San Francisco Yacht Club camp. Capsize training.
I was at the San Francisco Yacht Club sailing with Harrison, my friend. We were at the dock and we jumped onto a small optimise boat and those are pretty light so you don't want a big gust of wind to come. After sailing around in the harbor for a while doing all of the boring stuff, such as how to make sharp turns, and how to make the boom turn to go in a different direction. We decided to have some fun.

We were going to have fun but then we had to go to the capsize training. Capsize training is were we flip our boats, fall off, flip the boat back over and last grab onto a rope and get on the boat. As we were coasting back to the dock I could see the younger kids going before us, it looked like a lot of fun.

Everyone said that it was very fun but that still didn't change my opinion. We were walking along the wood panels to where the training was. Harrison and both thought that the councilors were very annoying, so I didn't listen much to the councilors. Harrison and I both got on the same boat, and sailed off through the water. We stopped where all the other boats were and grabbed the mass. The metal felt weird on my shriveled up hands. I leaned back one way and he leaned back the other way. My hands almost slipped, and if they did, I would have fallen backwards off the boat. After that fail we both leaned the same way which, I guess was the right way because we hit the water pretty fast. When we were falling I saw the whole thing in slow motion. I could see the sail come down about to cover me like a blanket on a rat. I could see the boom about to come down hard on my head. By the way the boom is a metal pole that holds up the sail. When I hit the water it was like braking through a thin layer of ice. I plunged far down into the water. As I rose I noticed something slippery, big and thin like a tablecloth. I realized that I was under the sail. I couldn't get up. I swam vigorously to the left. I felt as if I wouldn't have enough air to come to the surface alive. Fortunately, I did make it because if I didn't I wouldn't be writing this today. I hit the surface just in time, and gasped for air.

I realized obviously that Harrison was up before me, but only by a couple of seconds, because it turns out that he hit the boat and It was also had a hard time getting up for him. We grabbed onto the boat and tried to flip it. It took us a couple of tries we but eventually we got it. When the bottom of the boat hit the water the boat caused a small splash. Harrison grabbed onto the boat to get up. He looked off to the side and said "SHARK."

I didn't believe him, but sure enough, I did see a shadowy figure swimming off to the side. I was so scared that I forgot about getting back on the small boat. After a few seconds I saw that the color was yellow. I looked up and saw that Harrison was climbing onto the boat. I tried to but my life vest was to bulky. "Harrison, help me up" I said. He grabbed my slippery hands and I did the kicking motion through the water. I got up to the boat and said tiredly, "thanks". I looked back and I did not see the shark. We sailed off and then I thought to myself What if I didn't make it out of the water ? I probably would have been unharmed but it was still one of the scariest moments of my life... so far. It was a great experience but I was lucky that I wasn't on a big boat because if I was I would not have been able to get back onto the boat.

One last thing, after that I found out it was just a sand shark.

Home Alone

July 2006:

On a odd and warm October night while I was watching my mom and dad getting ready for my dad's company dinner. I started feeling drowsy and dizzy suddenly I heard my sister talking on the phone she was talking about how the person she was talking to just saw a intruder in her house dressed like a clown so she called the cops and they arrested him.

I wanted to clarify it but after a couple of minutes of me freaking out she had to make a foolish trick that I wouldn't have fallen for now but she had to say ''she also said she heard on the news that the guy escaped and now is heading to Mill Valley once and for all and to rob and kill every one in big white houses just like ours,'' so that started my night a little freaked out, okay, really freaked out. Then to make it worse I found out my sister was going to hang out with her friends in Sycamore Park so then I was going to be home alone. Da da daaaaaa, sorry, I had to do that for dramatic affect.

Once my sister and my parents left the house I heard a noise in Emily's room, my 16 year old sister at the time, suddenly I saw Emily walk around the corner so I was happy to know I wasn't alone but then just at the time I was relieved to find out I wasn't alone she started heading for the door I gasped and said ''wait were are you going?''

''I'm just going with Ryan," her 18 year old boyfriend, "I am going down town and I'll be home around 10:30,''
and at the time it was about 7:00.''But then I'm going to be Home Alone'' I said trying to hide that I was very nervousness.

"Bye," Emily said as she walk out of the front door. Oh know I'm Home Alone now there wont be any one home to walk around the corner and watch a movie with me. Then immediately I started thinking about the clown and what my sister said earlier ,''It'll be okay Jackson, just get the clown thought out of your head. Emily will be home in about three hours,'' I thought while trying to watch Blazing saddles, a very funny Mel Brooks movie. Suddenly I heard what sounded like the gate in my front yard open, then just as slow as it opened it slowly creaked closed. By then I hoped it was a dream. I kept on hearing little noises, but I just ignored them. I suddenly was startled but a pounding on the desk down stairs I then quickly ran to my bed room and hid absolutely hidden under my covers. Luckily I finally fell asleep just the way I wanted.

But then just like all scary stories, I was awoken by the sound of something or someone searching for something in Emily's room, the room right down the hall from me. By then I really hoped I was in a dream, but no, because I slapped my self constantly and I was definitely awake. Suddenly I heard a car door close and I turned joyfully to look at the clock. It was exactly 10:30

, then I looked out the window and I saw Emily walking up the stairs out side I quickly ran to the door and greeted her. She looked at me like I should be in a Insane Asylum. Then she started walking to her room. Then I shouted, ''wait don't go in there!" Then, like before she looked at me a little weirdly as she walked into her room. I was expecting a man in a clown suite to jump out and kill us both, but when she turned on the lights there was know one in sight. That night, there was no more noises not even a peep.

I have finally found out all the noises that I heard that night except the noise of the gate opening and closing 1 of the noises  were my cat falling down the stairs. The other noises were from my dog, and I guess the gate will remain a mystery.
    (The debate still continues)

THE HAUNTED HOUSE

My first Halloween going trick or treating without a parent. So I'm very excited because they are not there to tell me to be home by 10:00. Me and a couple of friends from my soccer team met me at Boyle Park to go together. So we started walking down sycamore and we decided that we had enough candy because our pillow cases could not hold anymore, and felt sick.

So after we got there we where waiting in line and the lady who was telling when you could go in said,"go ahead."I was thinking this is not going to be scary at all, being all confident, so right as I walked in, a girl was in the bathroom screaming with fake blood all over her face and arms, and right at that moment I wanted to scream,"GET ME OUT OF HERE!" But I just held it in. In my mind I was thinking why the heck am I doing this, but it didn't matter because I was already walking into the next room.

Suddenly a bloody gorilla jumped in front of me and started grabbing me. I was thinking can this get anymore scary, but I knew that it had to be over soon, mostly because I wanted it to, but out of the random the bloody gorilla pushed me roughly into a bedroom, when suddenly a bloody girl with a knife threw her neck, started limping over to me kind of like she was shot in the leg, and she was trying to touch me. I was about to just run as fast as I could and yell for help but I could not because my friends were with me and I would look like a total nerd, so I just kept on walking to the next room,"OMG!" A bloody baby was getting a drilled through the forehead by a loony scientist and blood and guts where flying all over me, I felt disgusted. I really wanted to yell,"SOS!" But I just kept on walking.
I felt like barfing! I looked at my friends and they where freaked too! I had no idea why we did this lunatic show, we where thinking about running out but we just stood there frozen.

The people behind us where telling us to keep moving and they pushed us a bit because they were scared out of their pants too. We kept on moving into the next room and by this point I was completely sick, disgusted, woozy, and terrified ,but before I could do anything a bloody clown jumped out of the corner of the room and screamed like he was in a tremendous amount of pain. I ran as fast as I could straight out the door and I sighed in relief. I thought to myself, what a night. My friends were freaked out too."Who wants to go again." I said sarcastically. We all started laughing and we headed back to my party.

Baseball at Boyle

It was a sunny fall day at Boyle Park and I was playing baseball with my elderly teen brother Jonah and my friend Jackson. We were playing a normal game, just tossing the ball over the plate and hitting it. Pretty much what I did every day a few years ago. But this day wasn't normal.

A group of teenagers came strolling over and sat in the bleachers. They watched us. I didn't really care. To me it was just another group of another teenagers who would ruin our games. I wasn't aware of anything at the moment. "So, can we play?", the one with sagging pants said. "No", answered my brother with force. "Why?", they asked, getting annoyed now. "We are just playing alone", my brother answered. I was getting kind of scared now. Jackson was quiet, but I knew he was getting a little scared too. Then one of them headed out toward the mound. "Hey, kid, can I pitch one?", he asked. My brother was shaking his head saying NO. Jonah seemed pretty cool about the whole thing. "No", I squeaked back. "I'll give you my Ipod", he said stupidly with a quizzical look on his face. His doofess friends chuckled in the background. "You'll give him your Ipod?!", one of them said. "Hey, you guys, let's go to the other field", Jonah told us. So we started to walk over to the Minors field. They followed us. Now I was totally freaked. when they got over one of them said, "Hey, kid, you're cool but your brother's an @$%#$%@". "Let's, Let, Let's, um, go home" Jonah said with fright. "Let us bat! God! You #$*%&**%!" the sagger yelled. They got closer as we were backing away. "@#$%!". He had a skateboard, and then he did something that made my heart stop. He hurled his skateboard at my brother's almost whisker face and it barely missed. Then all three of us broke into a run.

We were running as hard as we could, scared out of our minds. I thought we were not fast enough but at least we were still ahead. The thing that made it more scary is that they were still on our backs and chasing us. And it didn't look like they were slowing down, either. We were now on the path near the bathrooms and running towards the majors field. We were getting nearer to the road now. "We're not gonna make it", I thought hopelessly. My legs felt like jelly. Then, by some amazing feat, a miracle happened.
I saw a car coming down the street. It looked familiar. Then I thought, WAIT, it's my dad's! And he was in it all right. Now all we had to do was make him stop. It might not be easy because he was probably thinking, Oh, they just walk the rest of the way. I sure hoped he wasn't thinking that. Or just not thinking at all. All three of us yelled, "WAIT!!! STOP THERE! PLEEAAAASE!".
And after about 15 yards of chasing he stopped near the hill down towards the Mill Valley Tennis Club. "Hurry up, hurry up go!", I panicked. All of us were panting hard at that moment. I looked back to look at them, and they were gone. But I caught a glimpse of the last one running down the hill into the tennis club. Only 30 seconds away from safety, I thought. Now it's over.
When I got home I looked around, still being a little paranoid, then dashed inside with Jonah and Jackson and locked the doors immediately. When we were inside we told my mom and dad what happened exactly with a few, "That was so scary" remarks and, "Oh my god, that was freaky". " I'll go down there and teach those teens a lesson", my dad said confidently. That made me feel better. Jackson stayed at our house for a while, so he would not have to walk all the way to his house, alone. The teenagers could still be out there, waiting for us. The idea of that made me shiver with fear. After a while of sharing the experience, my dad got in the car and drove Jackson home and I went with them. I never saw those teenagers again.

Late Night Fright

Tonight was the night, it had finally come, this was the very first chance I've had in my life to stay up all night ten times in a row, beat that! So, my SOS story began at seven or eight o'clock at night. Tonight Nathan, my friend, and I were having a sleep over. Now, every sleep over Nathan and I have together we have one main goal: stay up all night. Now we're kids, so that's just about every kid's "want to" in a sleep over. As it turns out, we usually do. So we're playing our Nintendo DS's, a small hand held video game about the size of your two hands.

We always turn the brightness down to two or three so we can see the screen, but if anyone walks in, they probably can't. Although we can never be sure. We talk really softly, if at all so the parents can't hear us. There probably asleep anyway. All of the sudden we hear a door open. Now, it was about twelve o'clock at night, so it was totally freaky.

"Eric," Nathan called down to me.

"What?" I replied. "

Did you hear that?"

"Yeah, I think it was my parents door opening!" I whispered up to my top bunk of the bunk bed where Nathan was laying still as a mouse.

I knew that if we got caught now, me and Nathan would lose our nine time all night streak. Instinctively we closed our games and put them under the covers. Apparently Nathan wanted to make sure that my game was put away.

"Eric put your game away and act like your asleep, you know what to do"! Nathan whispered.

But I couldn't turn off now! The foot steps were getting closer, and closer by the second. It seemed as if time itself was slowing down just to add all the tension. It sounded like giant sonic booms stomping up and down the hallway. I was sure that was busted for sure. I thought. And right when the footsteps where outside my room the very second I felt my breathing stop, and I mean, completely stop, not a peep out of me! And just when I thought all hope was lost, they continued down the hall going right by our room. Once we were sure that they were back in bed and sleeping I let out the quietest and longest sigh of relief I have ever harbored. And it turns out that it was my baby sister crying that got them up. Later, I thought back on that moment, and I realized that when I heard them coming It was the most fun I've had all night. Its a miracle I thought. And after the incident with my baby sister and the SOS, there were no more interruptions all night, and Nathan and I stayed up all night for the tenth time in a row. Which is the most times of staying up all night in a row of anyone I know.
